Film Screening | In Search of Remnant Images

How can video art, or the moving image, capture grief? How do artists represent loss when what must be depicted is absence itself, or the void left behind? How does a durational medium differ from other forms of expression, and what role does time play in narrating disappearance?
We invite you to In Search of Remnant Images, a screening program that brings together
artists who engage with some of the sorrows that haunt the Arab world today: Basma al-Sharif, Dena al-Adeeb, Huda Takriti, Hussein Nassereddine, Maha Maamoun, Noor Abuarafeh, Rund Alarabi, Sadik Kwaish Alfraji, Yaqeen Yamani, and Younes Ben Slimane.

كيف يمكن للفيديو، أو ما يعرف بالصور المتحرّكة، أن يجسّد الحزن؟ كيف يمثّل الفنّانون الفقد، حين يُراد
تصوير الغياب أو الفراغ الذي يتركه؟ ما الذي يميّز الوسائط الفنيّة المرتبطة بالوقت عن غيرها من أشكال
التعبير؟ وما هو الدور الذي يلعبه الزمن في سرديات التلاشي؟  
ندعوكم لمشاهدة «بحثًا عن صور متبقّية»، برنامج عروض أفلام يضم فنّانين يتناولون أحزانًا تؤرّق العالم
العربي اليوم: بسمة الشريف، حسين ناصر الدين، دينا الأديب، رند العربي، صادق كويش الفراجي، مها
مأمون، نور أبو عرفة، هدى تكريتي، يقين يماني، يونس بن سليمان. 
جزء من مشروع «هسهسة الرثاء» الذي تنظّمه مؤسّسة عبد المحسن القطّان في رام الله، فلسطين.
