Natural Dyeing Workshop with Leen Akoum

·
July 12, 2025 12:00 pm

Led by Leen Akoum, this one-day workshop introduces the basics of natural dyeing through hands-on, collaborative experimentation. Participants will learn how to treat fabric, extract botanical pigments, and fix dyes using flowers and other natural materials. Each participant will design and dye their own silk tote bag, exploring color, pattern, and texture through intuitive, plant-based processes.

Leen Akoum is a chef and a member of the Masbough/a collective, working across food, craft, and ecological practice.

Each participant will receive a lunch box from Nation Station that includes a vegetarian or non-vegetarian meal, a drink, and a dessert.

All tools and materials will be provided.

We recommend bringing a hat and wearing comfortable clothes, as the rooftop can get quite sunny.

Participation fee: $15

Registration form link in bio.
